When I think of Gothics I imagine spikey hair, spikey boots, spikey collars, just spikes spikes spikes… but oh how wrong I am. Gothic fashion and makeup is of course mysteriously beautiful and thankfully last year’s Gucci Autumn/Winter 2011 show and recently Ashish’s London Spring/Summer 2012 showed that the glam can be found in the Goth.
Opt for Bobbi Brown Lip Colour in Black Raspberry (£18 from Selfridges) for a dramatic effect. Perfect for this season’s fetish look – just don’t be rocking leather with it.
A deep plum (Paul & Joe Lipstick in Gotham £16 from ASOS.com) will give you a more elegant look, think 70s high fashion.
While the Nars pure matte lipstick in Volga (£18.50 from Space.NK) I’m wearing will give you a little edge, without pushing you over the top.
Eyes can either be left looking fresh, clean and glowing for a more innocent vibe, or can be popping with a thin slick of eyeliner and mascara. Naturally darker shades will make your lips seem smaller, so I like to dab a bit of MAC Clear Lipglass (£11.50 form Selfridges) on the centre of my lips to give my pout a bit of extra oomph.
