Make Me Up Before You Go Go

It’s safe to say that we’ll all being adding a touch of the 80s to our faces, if Bobbi Brown’s latest launch is anything to go by. Mixing neon brights with nudes, the collection features a unique pairing of eccentric colours that are balanced by soft neutrals.

The centerpiece of the collection, the Ultra Nude Eye Palette, features six classic Bobbi shades, from Stone to Pink Chandelier to Cocoa Berry Shimmer, that are sure to look flattering on everyone. And if you don’t fancy the whole palette or think you may want some more outrageous colours than neutrals, dip into the eye-popping singular eye shadows. Ultra Violet happens to be Bobbi’s favourite bright shade to use on and off the runway.

For the cheeks, nothing gives your face a lift like blush, so Bobbi has created two tones in muted pink and peach blush (the hue that will be HUGE come Spring) to complement brightly accented eyes. If you do plan on accenting your eyes, I would recommend the Uber Beige in Lip Colour. Made up of a unique blend of Beeswax and Vitamins A and C this lip colour is a dream to wear. It glides on smoothly (no chalky, matte texture at all) and managed to stay put during my meal. The lip colour also comes in two super vibrant colours, Atomic Orange and Neon Pink.

I have long been a fan of Bobbi Brown’s gel eye liner. It’s safe to say that it has graced the pages of many top 100 beauty lists and for good reason, put simply, it’s the bomb!!! So I was very excited to try the new limited edition ink liner. It offers the precise, dramatic look of liquid liner with its slanted, flexible felt tip applicator that releases rich pigment in one simple stroke. I found it easy to apply and didn’t end up getting glugs of it spreading onto my eyelid, like others I have tried. Better yet, since it’s formula is long-wearing, you won’t need to reapply during the day!

But wait… here comes the piece that I have been drooling over and sending out for more! The gorgeous new neon lipglosses. They come in shades of citrus, cosmic pink and ultra violet that are sheer, super shiny, smell like mint and give your lips a little tingle. The texture is smooth as well, so my lips don’t stick together when I talk.  The only let down is that it’s so sheer, it takes a very long time and many applications to get the pop of colour I always aim for.
