New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 Day Six

Vera Wang

Brilliant sheer pieces were paired with impressive outer wear garments in Vera Wang’s soft meets hard show. Coats ranged from sporty, big collared and sleeveless to more feminine cape-like silhouettes, while the beige, gray, pale blue and black palette had a slight contrast added to it with vibrant tangerine.

Badgley Mischka

Glamour played a big part in Mark Badgley and James Mischka’s fall collection with metallic tweeds, sequins, fur, velvet, satin, shimmering gold and beads galore.

A bit of a ‘whoop whoop’ for my home country Australia, because it was the influence behind Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s fall collection.  “We had a huge story to tell about the history and the landscape and the way we viewed where everything came from there,” Laura told WWD. The palette certainly reminded me of Australia’s landscape with its dusty blues and rusty tones.
