New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 Day Seven

Victoria By Victoria Beckham

It was no surprise that the lines were slim and fitted in VB’s fall show. Known to create dresses that she herself would like to wear, it was obvious that the focus had shifted from her former pregnant self to her re-found figure after the birth of her daughter Harper. Pieces were inspired by military looks and her son, Brooklyn’s sports uniform, making for an easy to wear collection suitable for any soccer mum.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

It was return of geek chic at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show with models donning super-sized specs teamed with high round neck short sleeve shirts, loose fitting trousers and combat boots. There was also a nod to the grungey school kid with hanging dresses, tailored jackets and bell skirts that hit below the knee.

Ethereal, elegant and down right stunning. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig knows how to steal a girl’s heart. Models floated down the catwalk in pieces inspired by “A Soul Brought to Heaven,” an angelic work by painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Lace, tulle and hand embroidery made for spectacular dress after spectacular dress. Not all was delicate… A leather laser cut knee length number, bronze metallic rose hip applique dress and ‘little red riding hood’ inspired gown had the supermodel FROW swooning.
